1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website, booking and holding workshops (mobile and studio), online store including bisque sales and take home kits and any other activities undertaken by The Wonky Wheel Pottery Studio.
2. Bookings & Classes
- Individual / Group bookings are made via BTA Booking App, via Shopify (our website).
- Full payment is required to secure your place.
- Classes are by default for adults only unless advertised as “Children’s Classes” or "Suitable for all ages".
- You must follow all safety instructions including wearing enclosed shoes for workshops held in our studio. If you do not wear inclosed shoes we will have to deny access due to insurance. Hair tied back for wheel workshops is also advisable.
- Failure to follow safety instructions via Terms and Conditions or whilst given verbally by your Wonky Wheel Pottery Studio Coordinator during workshops can result in immediate termination of booking / workshop without a reschedule or refund option.
2.1. Private Bookings / Workshops
The details of any private bookings / workshops including group bookings are organised directly with us and you will be sent a private link to book.
2.2 Return To Paint Sessions
These sessions are for workshop participants and their guardians only. They are an extension of your workshop experience and therefore the same terms and conditions apply. Please do not bring additional people with you, due to insurance we will have to turn you away and ask you to rebook.
2.3 Mobile Bookings
Mobile bookings are set out as follows:
The Wonky Wheel Pottery Studio will provide the following:
- Clay
- Clay tools required for the workshop
- Tablecloths
- Instructed workshop for allocated time at booking.
- 2 x kiln firings
- 1 only return to paint session per group. Additional sessions required are to be booked from our studio from the times allocated. Additional sessions will be held from our studio at Cotswold Hills.
- Your workshop coordinator will be responsible for clearing the pottery related contents of the workshop only. The Wonky Wheel Pottery Studio uses tablecloths and all items used are taken away and washed off site.
The organiser (person who hosts the workshop) is to provide the following:
- A safe, suitable and weather appropriate workshop space, with sufficient lighting. The space is to have the required amount of seating, including for the workshop coordinator, and table space to conduct the workshop as well as an additional space for the workshop coordinator to store vessels for workshop items during the workshop. Please bear in mind that some places may require preapproval for use for a pottery workshop ie hired hall / restaurant etc. This is the responsibility of the organiser. Should we attend and be unable to conduct our workshop due to the organiser not having obtained pre approval, we will be unable to provide a refund or rebooking.
- Access to water and hand washing facilities.
- Access to the designated workshop area both half an hour before and after the scheduled workshop time for your workshop coordinator to set up and pack up.
- Cleaning of the area other than pottery related pack up (tools, clay etc) is the responsibility of the organiser.
2.3.1. The Wonky Wheel Pottery Studio is agreeing to deliver an instructed workshop only and is not responsible for the actions of the public or workshop attendees. The Wonky Wheel Pottery Studio reserves the right to immediately cease providing this service where The Wonky Wheel Pottery Studio deems the environment to be unsafe for instruction or where there is a safety concern regarding use of tools or where safety instructions are not being adhered to.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
3.1. For Individuals Bookings: at least 24 hours notice is required for reschedules or they may not be granted. You are however able to transfer your ticket to a friend to use at the same originally booked workshop if you are unable to make it.
3.1.2. For Group And Mobile Bookings: At least 48 hours notice is required for reschedules. Reschedules less than 48 hours will attract a 20% fee of the total booking amount and notice less than 24 hours will attract a 50% fee of the total booking amount.
- If we cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances you may reschedule or receive a refund.
- If we cancel a workshop due to reasons mentioned in 2.3.1, there will be no option for a refund or rebooking.
- Any variation to this policy is at The Wonky Wheel Pottery Studio's discretion.
4. Online Sales of Pottery and Goods
4.1 Product Descriptions
While every care is taken to describe items, monitor colours may vary from the actual colours of the item and handmade items may vary slightly and often have slight “imperfections”. These are not defaults and are part of the uniqueness of the hand made items.
4.2 Pricing
Prices are in AUD and may change without notice.
4.3 Shipping
Pickup only currently offered.
4.4 Returns
- Faulty items will be replaced or refunded in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
- Change of mind returns are not accepted for handmade pottery.
5. Take Home Kits
By using our kits you agree to all our safety and care information, terms and conditions and agree to use the paints in conjunction with the paint manufacturers instructions and usage recommendations which are available via the link below.
Recommended use for ages 8+ with adult supervision.
WARNING: Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Contains small parts that may present a choking hazard.
This ceramic item is supplied for decorative painting and display purposes only. Finished pieces decorated with the supplied acrylic paints are not food safe, dishwasher safe, microwave safe, oven safe, or waterproof, and are intended for indoor decorative use only.
Ceramic items are fragile and may chip, crack, or break if dropped, knocked, or handled roughly. Before use and throughout the life of the product, inspect the item for any damage. If the item becomes chipped, cracked, broken, or develops sharp edges, discontinue use immediately and dispose of it safely.
Adult supervision is recommended whenever this ceramic item is being handled, including before, during, and after painting and decoration. The Wonky Wheel Pottery Studio accepts no responsibility for any injury, damage, or loss arising from the handling, use, misuse, storage, display, transportation, or disposal of this product, or from failure to follow the provided instructions, warnings, and recommendations.
By using this product, you acknowledge that it is a decorative keepsake and not intended for functional use.
We use Duncan Bisq-Stain® acrylic paints, specially developed for decorating ceramic bisque. These water-based paints provide vibrant colour and excellent coverage on ceramic surfaces and can be mixed to create custom shades. They are easy to use, clean up with soap and water while wet, and are certified non-toxic when used as directed by the manufacturer.
Adult supervision is recommended whenever paints, brushes, ceramic items, or other kit components are being used or handled. Paints should not be ingested, and hands should be washed after use.
Finished painted pieces are intended for decorative use only and are not food safe, dishwasher safe, microwave safe, oven safe, or waterproof.

6. Gift Vouchers
Gift Certificates are only redeemable on any Wonky Wheel Workshop via our website. If a private workshop (with a minimum of 2 people) is organised between myself and the gift certificate holder, this will be listed on the website via a private link for the gift certificate holder to use their gift certificate to pay. They are not redeemable / exchangeable for cash or items and are not redeemable at any other business.
Please go through the process to book a workshop through our website and enter the gift certificate code where required.
Any gift certificate balance can be used towards the total of another lesson, however the balance of the amount due will need to be covered by the customer.
Our refund policy states that at least 24 hours notice is required for cancellations, or refunds / reschedules will not be granted. You are however able to transfer your ticket to a friend to use at the same originally booked workshop if you are unable to make it.
If you have booked through our website, any cancellations / reschedules are to be made through our website up to 24 hours in advance of your class time.
Gift Certificates are valid indefinitely.

7. Intellectual Property
All website content belongs to The Wonky Wheel Pottery Studio.
8. Right of Refusal of Service
We have the right to refuse service and / or entry to our premises. No disrespectful behaviour will be tolerated. Threats of violence and / or verbal abuse and / or intimidation will be reported to authorities and appropriate action taken. A refund / rebooking will not be granted in these circumstances.
9. Workshop Times and Pickup of Fired Items
Lessons begin and conclude at the times stated and we are open by appointment only. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to your scheduled time unless organised prior.
Pick up times are communicated in a timely manner after the final firing. Should the time be inconvenient we will arrange a mutually agreeable time. Items will be kept for 3 months from the pickup date at which time they will be disposed of. It is the participants responsibility to follow up pick up of their items.

These terms are governed by Queensland, Australia law.
